007 First Light Switch 2 Version Delayed to March 2027

IO Interactive has announced that the Switch 2 port of 007 First Light has now been delayed to March 2027 following its previous Summer 2026 delay.

The team shared the following message, quoting enhanced performance for the port:

Today we would like to provide an update on the Nintendo Switch 2 release of 007 First Light. We know many of you have been looking forward to experiencing Bond’s reimagined origin story on Nintendo Switch 2, and we greatly appreciate your enthusiasm. To ensure we deliver the quality of experience players expect, we have made the decision to delay the release to March 2027, with the exact date to be communicated later.

This additional time will go toward polishing the Nintendo Switch 2 performance of the game. We were thrilled by the positive feedback on 007 First Light at gamescom, and it’s a great sign of the progress being made across the whole game as we head toward launch. The same demo will be playable at Tokyo Game Show this week, so please join us there if you would like a hands-on experience. We will share further updates as soon as we are ready. Thank you for your patience, understanding, and continued support.

007 First Light marks IO Interactive’s first original James Bond game and its first major project outside of the Hitman series in years. The studio has described it as its largest production to date, built around a full Bond-style structure that includes globe-spanning missions, spycraft, gadgets, and cinematic action sequences.

Actor Patrick Gibson portrays Bond as a younger, less experienced version of the character. The story frames him as talented yet reckless, forced to adapt to MI6’s rigid structure, where discipline and obedience carry as much weight as initiative.

007 First Light is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.
