Best Goalkeepers in FC 27

With such a limited role in matches, there aren’t too many stats to go on that determine a goalkeeper's overall efficacy outside of the GK-specific stats. Primarily, it leans on their Physicality and Reactions stats, so to give you the rundown of who’s best, we’re looking at a mix of stats and PlayStyles. We'll be running through goalies with Gold tier PlayStyles alongside their respective Reactions stat.

Below we have a table giving you a high level look at the best goalkeepers, ordered by Overall rating. After that, we'll take a deeper dive into some of the best along with some details on the Goalkeeper-based PlayStyles that enhance their abilities.

The best goalkeeper right now is Thibaut Courtois, not just down to an overall rating of 90 - thanks to high stats in almost all Goalkeeper-focused stats - but also the 88 he lands in Reactions. This stat is a sub-stat under Dribbling, and universally pretty much the highest non-Goalkeeper-specific stat that all great GKs are typically high in. Thibaut also has the Rush Out+ PlayStyle that gives him unique reflex saves, higher rush speeds, and allows him to read close shots better. He also has Far Reach and Far Throw which make him more efficient at saving, and passing long distance balls.

Second and third places go to Gianluigi Donnarumma and David Raya, both at 89 and 88 Overall respectively. Whilst Donnarumma has a higher overall, he only has one PlayStyle - Deflector+ - whereas Raya has three: Cross Claimer+, Far Reach, and Far Throw, and is cheaper to buy.

As for women's teams, Ann-Katrin Berger is the best goalie to get. Similar to David Raya, she also has Cross Claimer+, on top of Long Ball Pass and Footwork - the latter of which means she has 'exclusive foot saves and better peformance on low shots'.

Alternatively, Hannah Hampton is a fantastic pick. Like Berger, she too has Cross Claimer+ and Long Ball Pass, but differs slightly with the Deflector PlayStyle, giving her unique deflections that can parry balls off to safer areas. Whichever of the two you're able to sign to your team, you're sure to have a solid defence for when the opposition breaks into the box.

As a final note here, there were two Goalkeepers who didn't make it into the top 20. Both Berke Özer and Arijanet Murić are rated 79 and 74 respectively, but do come with Gold PlayStyles. Whilst Berke has Far Reach+ meaning he's great at saving long shots, Arijanet has maxed out power punches and faster cross coverage thanks to Cross Claimer+. Since they have those PlayStyles, they can be effective in their own way and are options worth considering if you can't land a deal on the higher rated Goalkeepers.
