EA FC 27 Launch Day Pitch Notes Highlight Chemistry Changes, New Rewards

Kicking off the final stretch of reveals leading to the game’s Early Access debut on September 18, EA just revealed the official EA FC 27 Pitch Notes, detailing all of the game’s biggest changes to Ultimate Team and some of its other modes.

Among the talked-about UT changes, the focus is on tradable rewards and the return of the Champions Token system (with its store now selling red TOTW players, evolutions, and even celebrations). What is bound to be an unpopular choice: Icon and Hero team Chemistry benefits have also changed, with both now providing only +1 League and +1 Nation to teammates.

EA FC 27 is also expected to feature around 15 promos during its lifetime, a -5 decrease from FC 26‘s bloated schedule. Here are a few other notable changes coming to Ultimate Team on day one:

• All base Icons now have an 88 OVR minimum rating.
• Rivals, Champions, and Squad Battles match rewards have been enhanced.
• Squad Battles can reward you with Champions Qualification Points. The Div 6 requirement was removed.
• Throughout the first six squads, one weekly TOTW player will be selected via community voting.
• Fewer promotional store packs will be released during the game’s lifetime.
• Pack sizes have been tweaked into Mini (three items), Small (six items), Large (nine items), Jumbo (24 items), and Giant (32 items). Quick sell values have also been reworked.
• All Campaign Player Items will be released with all ++ roles unlocked.

EA FC 27 Roadmap & Season 1 Rewards

EA also took the chance to showcase the content roadmap for the first four seasons of FC 27 across all modes. The reveal confirmed nine of the game’s 25 mentioned promos, with both Destined For Glory and Future Stars set to debut during Season 1 and follow its themed Ones to Watch.

As you can see below, multiple promo players will also be available in the game’s first Season Pass, with Level 30 letting you claim both an 84 OVR Ones to Watch Diomande (Premium) and an 84 OVR Ones to Watch Ferran Torres.

Destined For Glory Promo, Explained

Set to be released following Ones to Watch on September 25, Destined for Glory will be composed of the most popular players voted by the community in the FC 26 UT and FC 27 Ratings databases. The players can then be upgraded based on their 2026/27 season performances. You can check out an overview of all upgrades below:

• Attackers and Midfielders
  • By getting Three Goals/Assists: +1 to Shooting & Passing
  • By getting Six Goals/Assists: +1 Regular PS
  • By getting 10 Goals/Assists: +1 OVR
  • By getting 20 Goals/Assists: +1 OVR
• Defensive Midfielders and Defenders
  • By getting two Clean Sheets: +1 to Defending & Physical
  • By getting four Clean Sheets: +1 Regular PS
  • By getting six Clean Sheets: +1 OVR
  • By getting 10 Clean Sheets: +1 OVR

The Grounds Live Events & Archetype System

During the Pitch Notes, EA also talked a little more about The Grounds and its Archetype approach. The developer also confirmed that the hub will receive seasonal content themed around both the UEFA Champions League and Halloween. Here’s an overview of all the Archetype-related info:

• AXP and Grounds Coins will be earned by playing all modes within The Grounds. Objectives also reward players with cosmetics, AXP Consumables, and coins.
• Players will be able to use Standard and Signature Amps to add boosts to their builds. Those won’t come with PlayStyles+ at the start.
• Resetting builds won’t cost Ground Coins.
