Manor Lords Major Update #8 adds cows, cheese and starving livestock Building in Manor Lords just got more complicated Manor Lords is 35% off following four million salesManor Lords has passed four million copies sold, with developer Slavic Magic celebrating the milestone by releasing one of the medieval city builder’s biggest updates yet.
Major Update #8 is now available on the main Early Access branch, introducing a new Wide Valley map alongside cows, calves, oats, cider, mead, cheese production and a substantial overhaul to the way larger construction projects work.

And yes, after spending years painstakingly developing a thriving medieval settlement, you can now apparently live out your true destiny and become a cow farmer.
Manor Lords Major Update #8 adds cows, cheese and starving livestock
Cows and calves are the headline addition to Manor Lords’ livestock system, with cows available to import through the Livestock Trader.
Keeping them alive provides a regular supply of milk, while animals can also be butchered for beef and hides.
Life as a medieval cattle baron isn’t entirely straightforward, however. A new Hungry Animals mechanic means cows, calves, sheep and lambs need to be fed during winter. Fail to provide sufficient Animal Feed and your livestock can die.
Fortunately, oats have been introduced as a new crop and can be converted into Animal Feed at the Livestock Farm.
Milk also feeds into another new production chain thanks to the arrival of Cheesemongers. The new artisan workshop becomes available from Level 3 Burgage Plots and turns milk and salt into cheese.
Alcohol production has expanded too. Breweries can now turn apples into cider or honey into mead, giving settlements a couple more ways to keep the local tavern stocked.
There are new seasonal systems behind all this as well. Cows and sheep breed during specific parts of the year, sheep can only be sheared during summer, and cows stop producing milk during winter.
Building in Manor Lords just got more complicated
The update goes considerably further than adding new food and livestock.
A new Construction Yard changes how major building projects are handled. Workers assigned there can store and transport construction materials using handcarts, while a properly maintained yard allows its workers to build 50% faster.
Oxen can also use new Ox Carts to transport timber in bulk.
Some buildings are now classed as Advanced Structures and require professional builders assigned to a Construction Yard before they can be completed. Regular families can still help move materials and carry out basic work, but specialist workers are needed to finish the job.
The Large Stone Church has been added as another new upgrade, while Seasonal Assignment allows players to automatically change which families are assigned to buildings depending on the season.
The update also completely reworks Manor Lords’ main HUD and adds Wide Valley, a new river-based map offering another region to develop.
A lengthy selection of AI improvements, balancing changes, bug fixes and performance optimisations are included as well.
Manor Lords is 35% off following four million sales
The update arrives alongside another significant milestone for Manor Lords, which has now sold more than four million copies across all stores.
That is a remarkable figure for a project principally developed by Greg Styczeń under the Slavic Magic name, particularly with Manor Lords technically still being an Early Access game.
Anyone who hasn’t joined those four million players can currently pick it up with a 35% discount on Steam. The promotion runs until September 10, 2026.
Manor Lords is available in Early Access on PC through Steam, GOG, Epic Games Store and the Microsoft Store, and is also included with PC Game Pass.
Development isn’t slowing down following this update either. Slavic Magic has already confirmed another update is planned for late September, with a new collection of perks among the features currently expected to arrive.
