Needy Girl Overdose Writer and VA-11 Hall-A Developer Team Up for Otaku Culture

Needy Girl Overdose writer Nyalra and VA-11 Hall-A developer Christopher Ortiz, also known as kiri, will appear together for a talk event in Akihabara on September 23, 2026. The event will focus on global otaku culture and will include livestreamed and audience Q&A portions.

The event will take place at Shosen Book Tower in Tokyo, beginning at 2 PM JST. Doors open at 1:45 PM and attendees will gather on the ninth floor.

Nyalra is credited as the writer of NEEDY GIRL OVERDOSE and Sister, Others, Paranoia, while Ortiz is part of Sukeban Games and worked on VA-11 Hall-A.

The first portion runs from 2 PM to 3:30 PM and will feature Nyalra and Ortiz discussing otaku culture worldwide. This section will stream on both Niconico Live and YouTube.

Following a roughly 10-minute break, the second portion will run from 3:40 PM until 4:40 PM and focus on answering submitted questions. Unlike the first section, Part 2 will not be broadcast on YouTube and will be an exclusive stream for Niconico’s paid membership service.

Attendees will also receive a collaboration sticker featuring Jill Stingray from VA-11 Hall-A alongside Shaka from Sister, Others, Paranoia. Paroro drew the illustration.
