RuneScape Leagues II: EQUILIBRIUM is live with powerful new relics

RuneScape’s limited-time Leagues mode is back for a second season, with Leagues II: EQUILIBRIUM now live and giving players considerably more control over how their run through Gielinor develops.

Running until September 21, EQUILIBRIUM starts players from scratch and locks away the entire RuneScape map. Completing tasks allows you to gradually open new regions, but the choices you make along the way can also shut off other routes, meaning you can’t simply see and do everything in a single playthrough.

New regions bring access to different bosses, quests, skilling opportunities and rewards, while also determining the powers and abilities available later in the League.

RuneScape Leagues II puts player choice at the centre

Guthix, the God of Balance, is overseeing proceedings this time around, which fits nicely with the season’s focus on choosing your own path.

As players progress through combat, they’ll begin unlocking Combat Blessings tied to three different philosophies: Order, Balance and Chaos.

Committing further to one of those paths strengthens your alignment before eventually unlocking a God Tier Blessing. Jagex says these include some of the strongest combat effects ever introduced to RuneScape, so working out exactly where you want your character to end up should be a big part of the season.

Relics also return and once again provide some fairly ridiculous bonuses.

Endless Harvest automatically banks gathered resources, letting you continue skilling without constantly stopping to empty your inventory. Survivalist increases the resources you receive while providing improved tools, while Golden Touch turns Agility and Thieving into rather more lucrative pursuits.

Between those relic choices, Combat Blessings and the regions you decide to unlock, Jagex is aiming to make individual League runs feel significantly different from one another.

Leagues II is part of RuneScape’s 25th anniversary

EQUILIBRIUM arrives during RuneScape’s ongoing 25th anniversary celebrations and its Road to Restoration campaign.

As with the original League, progression is considerably faster than in regular RuneScape thanks to increased XP rates and powerful modifiers. Players can complete tasks, rise through the League leaderboards and earn rewards that won’t be available through normal play.

Jagex says it has also taken feedback from the first season into account, streamlining quest requirements and speeding up progression further for Leagues II.

There are dedicated Free-to-Play League Worlds this time as well, meaning you don’t necessarily need an active RuneScape membership to get involved from the beginning.

RuneScape Leagues II: EQUILIBRIUM is available now and runs until September 21, 2026.

RuneScape itself is available on PC, Steam, iOS and Android, with cross-platform progression between PC and mobile.
