Here's a bit of good news out of the game industry today - developer Bit Reactor, responsible for the recent Star Wars Zero Company, is in the process of returning more of their team back to work. This comes following the success of that came and the need to continue to support Zero Company going forward.

Previously, Bit Reactor had asked some team members to step away following launch as they figured out "unexpected business developments" outside of their control. The company laid off about 80% of its workforce due to the conditions mentioned, and running out of money as they went to launch. On the other hand, this has allowed them to bring back as many people as possible now that things have settled down.

According to a report from Game File, the returns today will bring the studio's headcount to more than half of what it had been ahead of the layoffs. That said, there's also a large chuck that still remain in limbo.

Back in August it was also reported that Bit Reactor had retained a small team to continue to work on updates for Zero Company. Based on today's statement, that still seems to be the case, albeit with further staff brought back on board for the time being.

Alina Analytics shared last month on social media that they believed the game had passed over 1 million copies sold across all platforms in less than a month post-launch, as part of a trend of strong Star Wars games being released. According to Rhys Elliot, the head of Alina Analytics market analysis, over 90% of Star Wars Zero Company sales were in North America or Europe. The 1 million copies sold means about $50m gross per Alina Analytics and is what is allowing Bit Reactor to rehire much of its staff.
