After a long offseason filled with shocking trades and free-agent moves, the 2026-27 NBA season is finally here. The season kicks off with a slate of high-profile matchups that should set a fantastic tone for the year. However, every team starts at 0-0, and at this point in the season, anyone can win the championship.
While we won’t officially know who wins the NBA Finals until June 2027, we can cheat a little bit by seeing who NBA 2K27 thinks will emerge victorious. We decided to sim the entire regular season and postseason in 2K27 to see who wins the Finals and which players win all of the major awards. Below, you can see the results to learn whether your team or favorite players are virtually favored heading into the 2026-27 season.
Simming the entire NBA 2026-27 season in 2K27
We simulated the entire season in MyNBA mode in 2K27 and didn’t interfere with any moves. We also didn’t participate in any matches; we let the season run its course and only took action when requiredto progress the season. For the rosters, we used the currently synced rosters for opening night of the 2026-27 season, so while the rosters could change in a few days, they are accurate for the first day of the season.
After running a simulation in MyNBA, you can see which teams met in the NBA Finals, which team won the championship, and all the major awards handed out. Naturally, if you simmed a season before, your results may be skewed by a variety of factors, and you may see some truly out-there award winners and championship contenders.
However, in this simulation, everything seemed to align with what could theoretically happen during the real 2026-27 season. Below, you can see the full results of the 2K27 simulation:
NBA Playoffs Seeds
- East
- Orlando Magic
- New York Knicks
- Philadelphia 76ers
- Boston Celtics
- Cleveland Cavaliers
- Toronto Raptors
- Atlanta Hawks
- Indiana Pacers
- West
- Oklahoma City Thunder
- San Antonio Spurs
- Minnesota Timberwolves
- Houston Rockets
- Portland Trail Blazers
- Golden State Warriors
- Denver Nuggets
- Dallas Mavericks
NBA Finals Matchup
- San Antonio Spurs versus New York Knicks (San Antonio wins 4-2)
League Award Winners
- MVP: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Oklahoma City Thunder (Victor Wembanyama runner-up)
- Coach of the Year: Sean Sweeney, Orlando Magic
- Rookie of the Year: Cam Boozer, Memphis Grizzlies
- Sixth Man of the Year: Payton Pritchard, Boston Celtics
- Defensive Player of the Year: Victor Wembanyama, San Antonio Spurs
- Most Improved Player: Brandon Miller, Charlotte Hornets
And there you have it: the entire NBA 2026-27 season, simulated in 2K27. Most of the simulation results aren’t too shocking; we have an NBA Finals rematch, but this time the Spurs come out on top. However, it is surprising that 2K27 rates the Orlando Magic so highly, predicting they take the number one seed in the East over the Knicks and the new-look 76ers.
