Warhorse Studios, the team behind the highly-regarded Kingdom Come: Deliverance series, has confirmed it has been the victim of a cyberattack.
Posting about the matter on its social channels, the studio is "working with cybersecurity specialists to secure our systems and understand the full extent of what happened."
In a more detailed statement on the company's website, Warhorse says the breach involved "unauthorized access to company systems as well as access to company data."
CEO Martin Frývaldský says the studio is taking the necessary steps to investigate what happened and protect its staff.
"This is a serious incident for Warhorse Studios and everyone affected. Our immediate priority is to secure our systems, establish the full extent of the breach, and take the necessary steps to protect our employees, partners, and community. We are dedicating the resources needed to address this situation and will communicate further information as soon as we responsibly can."
No details about exactly what information was accessed have yet been divulged. At the time of writing, no information appears to have leaked, but if there are confidential details out there, they may come to the surface in due course.
Less than a week ago, Japanese publisher Capcom also suffered a data breach related to its Capcom ID service.
Hopefully the cyberattack hasn't been too harmful for Warhorse. Should more details come to light, I'll update the article.
